Maina Wanderi-Biography

Maina Wanderi is a writer and graphic designer. He was born in Mũrang’a county (Metumi), Mathioya, Kamune (Hũra) village, from the clan of Ambũi, Mbarĩ ya Mwathi. Born and bred as a native Gĩkũyũ son with deep love of their traditions.

After schooling, he developed a reading habit where he loved to read Kikuyu transcripts the most. He came to realize that many writers write shallow, detailed books and that’s when he decided to start researching so that he could find the missing links. He extensively does research with old wise people, authors, writers and scholars about the Kikuyu traditions and customs.

The other thing about researching is that even the generation of our fathers has limited knowledge of their existence and lives. This reason made him vow that he wouldn’t tire of asking and writing so that he could save the lost Kikuyu generation. Over the years, he learned that it takes both a certain mindset and living by real success principles to achieve great things. To realize a clean and credible book, he utilizes a lot of his time and resources searching. He prays to God to revive those ancient times when people used to live in harmony, love and respect. He dreams that one day he will be served traditional food in a traditional way, the way our forefathers used to eat, hence their prolonged life span.

Kamune Ridge produces this great and talented Gĩkũyũ writer and it is made up of nine authoritarian huts, Mathingira Kenda. Namely: Icangware, Kĩhaaro, Gathima, Kĩambuu, Mũtua Thuku, Kĩgoori, Ihiga rĩa Njoki, Ihiga rĩa Mwanĩki and Ihiga rĩa Mahĩa-inĩ.

I pray that God grants you peace and peace be with you.

Let’s be peaceful (thayũ, thayũ, thayũ).
